One thing I was told by a poster at HKPro who attended Enforce Tac and IWA was that HK did have some advanced prototype/pre-series weapons at both events in their back room. And he was pretty surprised that HK released an article on these rifles so soon after Enforce Tac/IWA.
This is apparently brand new. Polizei Praxis Magazine has an article about the new Gen MR308 rifles (with changes applicable to the MR223) in Europe. This includes new MLok handguards with quick release mounting (new for the 417/MR308 family), HK's new .308 PMag and a side-charging option.
New to site products:
HK416 featuring G38 and G95K...
As much as I can care less about the stuff pointed out here (IMO, it's HK trying to curry favor with Germany and the EU's largely liberal leadership) about being green and inclusive (nothing against wildlife or energy conservation and being welcome and open to all), at least HK finally updated...
Basically a new, broadly (very broadly) AR-15 based rifle designed around the .264 USA round.
Main features are:
--AR-15 inspired basic controls
--Dual side mounted charging handles that are non-reciprocating
--Like the Sig MCX, it uses a folding stock
--Uses propetary mags for the 6.5x43mm/.264...
HK416A8 will be the G36 successor, known as the G95A1 and G95KA1.
Some new details on the HK437 order:
*Order may be for over 1600 total weapons.
*Includes 433s modified to fire simunition for training purposes.
*HK got more consideration given the modularity of the 433/437/231 family
