FN 49 muzzle brake question

This applies to the 7mm Venezuelan version. They came with a muzzle brake, and I'm interested in knowing how they were timed. I've been told that they didn't use shims or washers, but was the threads made to match on each barrel and device, or was the device machined to fit each barrel individually (similar to how Lee-Enfield mags were serial numbered to the receiver)?

Something like THIS: :unsure:
Are they perhaps Silver Soldered in place?
Or one-off, Slots cut after attached to the barrel?

I don't believe that they're soldered/welded on. They just screw in place. It should be noted that early FALs (8mm and .280) used similar brakes, and the thread on the FN 49s and early FALs was 15x1 metric (like most HKs).
