People are betting one way or the other on what they believe things will look like on 20 January 2021.

Me, H&K SP5 PDW but I'm not paying more than MSRP. If I missed the boat so be it.

It’s a crazy bet, but then again, back in the early 80’s I was getting a Colt M-16 for $2k and thought that was a lot of money. I couldnt afford it on an Airman’s salary.
I should have made the bet! 😆

Money is just a tool... if you want an item more than you want those pieces of paper... it is each person's prerogative to buy what they want no matter what the price. Value... like beauty... is in the eye of the beholder...

I sold over half of my collection into this market and loved every minute of it. Probably a third of my stuff was sold while I was standing there and people shouting I'll take it as soon as it came out of the bag. Selling good harder to get stuff right now goes at light speed.

The government is printing money as fast as they can, and each dollar they crank out makes all the ones that came before it worth a little bit less. “We need a couple trillion for this or that!” On top of deficit and debt that will make you dizzy if you try to comprehend the magnitude.

When the dollar tanks and isn’t worth the fabric it’s printed on, what you paid for any durable goods at this point in history will be meaningless. And if you are liquidating now to capitalize? Well, at least you’ll have lots of kindling to light your wood stove.

Venezuela.

One of largest economies on earth.
Add one Socialist coup.
10 years later... they're eating their pets. Welcome to America's future.

I'm glad I'm old. The young [40 or less] are already mentally enslaved.

If you think for one second that I did not immediately invest the proceeds from these sales into other needed hard goods then you need to set down the crack pipe. I had way more firearms than I needed and selling into this frenzy allowed me to maximize the funds available to invest into other needed hard goods items. I read the book "The Alpha Strategy" shortly after it first came out in 1981 and it's teachings have served me well my entire life. I am about a prudent a person as you can get in NOT believing in the current financial system. I plan and live my life according. If I were you I wouldn't be so quick to assume things about other people. If you want to get into a pissing contest on being prudent with hard goods for the coming financial crisis I'll take a piece of that action... just let me know.

Everybody has to control the "alpha" in themselves. This particular hobby has a LOT of it.
Agreed!
Just dont understand why someone would make such a statement (“Panties in a wad”) without knowing your audience .
I’m here to learn and to meet new folks and overall just enjoy the thoughts expressed by the community.
I’m not here to cause problems or be “opinionated“ or offensive to others or have others be offensive to me.
We have a great forum here and we just need to be respectful to each other!
just my .02!
