Hello -

I have a USP 45 V1 that, by following TooSixy excellent tutorial, successfully installed the Match Trigger Kit. Happy with the results.

I am about to acquire a HK45 Compact V1 and would like to install the same kit. Per the same tutorial - https://www.hkproshop.com/forums/resources/match-trigger-kit-installation.11/ -

"The same guide can be used to install the kit on a USP Compact, HK45, or HK45 Compact. Note that if you are installing the kit on a compact or HK45, you will not be able to use the trigger that comes with the Match Trigger kit."

I'm going to skip any overtravel stop modification too. At the very end of the tutorial, it states:

"Match Hammer Spring on the HK45 Compact
If you are installing the Match Hammer Kit on the HK45 Compact, you will need to trim a couple of coils off the Match Hammer Spring to be the same length as the stock hammer spring."

So here's my somewhat stupid questions: I just line up the spring and carfully cut one end? That's it? Any other tips, caveats, something I'm missing?

Bonus, here are my results for the the Match Kit on the USP 45:

Three-pull average - stock - DA/SA

Three-pull average - Match Kit - DA/SA

I was surprised the DA pull did not drop as much. I guess I was expecting 7-8 pound range. The SA is great. Overall the feel is much better in both modes.

Thanks in advance!

Cutting the hammer spring worked for me on a HK45CT. I cut a full size spring to the compact length & ground the end flat to match the factory cut end.
I do not use the match TRS in HK45C’s. The reset was not very positive with the match TRS. Also had a few times that the trigger failed to reset.

Thanks for the quick reply!

So I'm clear, you cut/installed the just hammer spring? Or did you install the kit minus what I striked below?

Match Trigger Kit Parts
1. Match Trigger (215684)
2. Overtravel Stop Screw (215680)
3. Hex Wrench (958179)
4. Match TRS (215679)

5. Match Hammer (215681)
6. Nickel Plated Flat Sear Spring (215691)
7. Match Hammer Spring (215694)
8. Catch (may not need if your gun is AF or later - 219442 or 50219442)

Installed everything except the trigger, overtravel stop, & TRS.
You can drill & tap the stock trigger if you want to use the overtravel stop.

You can drill and tap the HK45C trigger to fit the stop screw, as @rc51pete said above . I had several of them done by a gentleman a while back but I forgot his website. I will post the link if I can find it again.

I’m pretty sure Bill Springfield offers this service. He’s always had a quick turnaround time with me.
