Forgive my ignorance, but what is the big draw on LEO marked MP5 mags? Were they only available during a certain period/during the last AWB? No longer produced? They seem to always sell for at least $100, while new mags are like $70ish currently. I guess I'd like to have one just to say I do. Are certain date codes more desirable/rare/valuable? (And I guess this is kind of a what's it worth question. Hope that's not verboten.)

No different, brought about by the Assault Weapons Ban. A way to differentiate. I'm not that particular of a collector to care about this. Some people do though.

Absolutely not forbidden--- I think that you suffer from HKP PTSD. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Most LE-marked magazines are not date-coded--- but here are some that I have seen: :)

15-Round (curved)

IR (1993)
ie (1994)
ik (1996)

RESTRICTED LAW ENFORCEMENT /
GOVERNMENT USE ONLY 10-94
Heckler & Koch GmbH Heckler & Koch, Inc.
Made in Germany Sterling VA

30-Round (curved)

IR (1993)
IS (1995)
ik (1996)
IO (1997)
id (1998)

RESTRICTED LAW ENFORCEMENT /
GOVERNMENT USE ONLY 10-94
Heckler & Koch GmbH Heckler & Koch, Inc.
Made in Germany Sterling VA

or

RESTRICTED LAW ENFORCEMENT /
GOVERNMENT USE ONLY 10-94
Heckler & Koch GmbH Heckler & Koch, Inc.
Made in Germany Ashburn VA

The increased value may due to the unique markings (for collectors), or those with firearms that have similar, LE markings on their receivers. ;)

I'm curious as why they aren't referred to as 'LEGO' mags; considering they say "Law Enforcement / Government (use) Only"...
You know that is pretty good... that is a curiosity indeed as to why they are not called that.

I don't understand the appeal either but that doesn't mean I don't have a few... 😉

I bought a couple of the LEGO magazines back when they were $50. I always thought they were interesting to look at.

Well when you use a coupling device you can even build things with your LEGO mags!

That stack of 25 mags was in preparation of the Tennessee SubGun Match back in Oct....”don’t mind me loading SubGun mags” as I was sitting in the back of my Jeep, in the hotel parking lot, right in front of the hotel security camera (which I saw as I was finishing up)

Next time I go into the Old Kiesler's I will look & see what those few hundred magazines are in The Hk marked bags hanging back behind the register.
I have to get a couple feet away before I can even see what they are..
That place has changed names three times Kiesler's, Then Orion Arms & Now Kentuckiana Gun Store
I don't even think Doug Kiesler has anything to do with the place anymore, They have another newer place by the Clark County Airport now..
My old range buddy Tom works there part time.. How much are they Tom???
