Purportedly, @ 2,000 Steyr Maadi ARM's (Automatic Rifle Misr; Misr- Romanized Arabic for "Egypt") were imported by Steyr-Daimler-Puch of America, Inc. (Secaucus, New Jersey) in 1982.

Serial Numbers

S00001
-S001978

Certificates of Authenticity

(25/3/1982)(03-25-1982)
(25/3/1982)(03-25-1982)
(2/5/1982)(05-02-82)

Bayonets

Black
handle
Brown handle (some Arabic markings- somewhat rare)

- Type II (brown handle)/Type II transitional (black handle) bayonets; Type II painted black scabbard with black rubber insulator/tan leather frog (belt hanger); emerald green retention (wrist) straps
- serialized*- full 4-digit serial number stamped on right bayonet attachment point at end of blade/scabbard (bayonet attachment side below 2 dimples)
- Arabic markings (numbers in reverse)

Supposedly, @ 50 Maadi ARM's were imported into the U.S. in 1986 (MSRP- $995.00) by INTERPORT (St. George, Utah) with side-folding, steel buttstocks--- however, I have never seen one.
