WHICH HK 308 rifle is the one you choose?

I bet that attracts the customers.

It's funny. Now days, people don't even look at that stuff, so much. They're there for Glocks and cheap AR's. It's been like that, since the economy crash in 07-08. Discerning buyers, are few and far between. I had an as-new SR9 sit up there for 2 years at 2600 dollars. Finally I raised the price 200, and some guy bought it.

Yeah I hear the exact same thing over and over. I've had several store owners say that high end customers are few and far between and they have to stock for the masses. It makes buying anything very frustrating. I've only been able to special order a few weapons from dealers. Almost every time it is off to GB for a bidding war or top dollar buy it now. Unlike you I did not get into this hobby to make money. I better be getting fond of the taste of cat food... that is probably all I'll be able to afford in retirement.. lol.

I told you, I make my hobbies pay for themselves. What I've made money on.....I've lost on other stuff, while getting to play with all of it. I also "sit" on stuff for 20 years. If I "made money" on all this stuff, I wouldn't struggle to pay for simple things.

I never have hi-tech wizardry stuff. I'm old-school, and could never afford to purchase such things. I "chub-up" over illuminated reticles and a 55" TV.

I have found that the average person is more interested in a Glock or Bersa than an HK, simply because they dont know the difference or what HK’s offer! Heaven forbid they know what a MARK23 “KG” means and cost! Its easy to sell a gLock for $400.00 but a novice will always go for that versus a P9S or a Sig X-5 Skeleton or such... they just dot understand nor do I understand why my friend spends $5k each for rims??? Go figure!

Totally agree... but I have to admit in the beginning I purchased garbage too. I simply did not know any better. It took me years to discover HK and after I did my bank account has been on life support ever since.. lol. Man I had acquired a huge pile of crap within the first five years. The only good thing was it was common cheap stuff that was easy to trade or turn for cash. I simply started trading up until I put all of that garbage in the rearview mirror. I've still had a few detours along the way... like I did with B&T but at least it was quality stuff. I'd love to get more HK if we lived in a perfect world... but with the current situation these days I think I am finished for good.

Average person will never shoot their gun [especially now/panic buying], and couldn't care less about the legacy of HK. Frankly, I don't buy newer HK product. I find other stuff, a better value and more interesting.
I also spend more on cars, than I do firearms. I spent 8K on a set of rocker-gear for my one engine, and 2600 on lifters. Different strokes, man. I'm only here for the "legacy" stuff.

Different strokes for different folks... if we were all the same life would be pretty boring now wouldn't it..

That motor is cleaner than most operating rooms. 👍

I was riding those, till about 4 years ago. Traded my last 3, for remodeling in my home. I miss them, but cell-phones and people's lack of driving-skills.....made it impossible to not almost get killed on every ride. Last 3 bikes. All very significant in Suzuki history.

Gorgeous death traps... you made the right decision... people riding those things these days are practically a dead man walking. People just do not look out for motorcycles and riding them is extremely dangerous most of the time.

Yup. Rode very hard thru the 80-90's. We had a group [3-4, up to a dozen] that rode early every Sunday morning, to top-end race. Brand new pavement/freeway, and nearly had the road to ourselves. Everybody was either hungover fro Sat nite, or in Church. I'd guess I have 1-200 miles in, at over 175mph. The fastest I ever went, was an indicated 186. We also had a bunch of twisty stuff to ride on. We rode north about an hour for these places. Eventually, most of the guys quit riding one-by-one. Traffic got heavier, people got dumber, and areas built-up. I only rode hard, where/when there was no traffic, but it kept getting more dangerous over the years. Loved my bikes [had 15-20 over 25+ years], but not worth dying for, or having sit in my garage with covers and battery-tenders on them.
