Hello. I am new to the MP5 platform. Been wanting one for a while now. When a demilled kit was posted local to me I grabbed it. Hope I didn't make a giant mistake.
After reading a few posts here and on ar15.com i put out a few feelers to several builders to get their input and pricing.
Posting a few pics in order to get assistance with assessing if i have a decent kit. Any info and input would be greatly appreciated. My main concern is around the trigger pacj as I was told that some kits could come with a FA capable trigger that has to be modified? I am not sure if that applies to my kit. I was told that the trigger pack is from Zenith and not a genuine MP5 pack.
Someone who looked at the pics of my kit said the cap is from Zenith. But I am not even sure what a cap is. Again TIA for any info.

Welcome to the site--- from the pictures, it appears to be a pretty clean kit.
The trigger pack housing and trigger pack are not HK--- Zenith (?)--- could be.
The "cap" refers to the end cap (top of Picture 5).

The bolt carrier also looks like a semi auto Zenith/MKE carrier. Here is a pic of one that I have.

Trigger pack also looks like Zenith. Take a pic looking down into the pack. Tell us if you see this.

What I don't see is a matching number bolt to go with the carrier.

If both are Zenith, they should look like this.

So what parts are actually HK--- just the barreled end?
What are the markings on the right receiver. ;)

Good question. Zenith shipped with the contoured housings. That one looks different. They also shipped with a knurled thread protector on the muzzle. It would also be nice to see pics of the top side of the bolt and the locking piece.

It would be unfortunate if the OP was sold that as being 100% HK.......unless it was a screaming good deal.

Agreed--- but he did not mention the manufacturer. :)
Not certain why someone would demil a Zenith, unless it was a post-86. ;)

Do yourself a favor. Sell it.....and contact Ralph @RDTS He'll build you one from an HK parts kit that will outperform an actual MP5.

You'll thank me later.....you're welcome ;) 😂

That is a Zenith trigger pack. MKE trigger packs are MODIFIED full auto packs, not dedicated semi auto built packs like HK did. That little stub on the right that looks ground off is a neutered sear.

Good news is that it's already semi auto. Bad news is that it's designed to fit the Zenith/MKE semi auto shelf, not a HK semi auto shelf.

Thanks. How do I tell which shelf came with my kit?
