Figured I'd post these brass cases I got in a huge lot of factory .223 brass. I purchased 4000 new factory brass cases that were manufactured by (or for) Fiocchi USA (GFL headstamp). 99.9% of these had backwards primers or ones that were installed sideways and therefore rejected; hence sold at a bargain basement price I couldn't pass up. I came across these two rejects that are interesting; one looks like it was made for a dummy or action proving round, but the other is AFU, but at least it has the flash hole drilled...
They look like each fell off the line, missed a station, and got swept up into the next station
I think I still have a forty year old Craftsman socket, a 1/4" drive 11mm 6pt, but the "drive" is a perfect hole... a prototype "circular drive." I never considered returning it. I just bought a replacement instead.
