416 Mags

I'll bet if you offer about 300 apiece, some will appear. All hoarded and have become vapor-ware. Black was the hardest for me to obtain. Go figure.

It’s strange because the tan ones are easy to find. I thought the HK fanboys were obsessed with RAL8k. Maybe they finally upgraded to black …

None are being made, anymore. They'll cost whatever anybody is willing to pay for them. My guess? All the black went for previous
HK rifles. Lots of MR's out there...and plenty of black parts [uppers and lowers], before RAL became the fad. I've collected all the HK mag variations and colors.

Why would they quit making them?

Word is...Magpul had big issues with HK, for making P-Mags. All the rifles I've received...have Magpul mags. It's like HK and Haenel. Patents.

I'm a fanboy. I have no issues using the windowed magpuls when a person compares prices!

Also my A4 came with a tan windowed magpul straight from HK, so to me the windowed magpuls are "oem"! 😁

HK also made their own steel and later polymer mags, which are a bit heavier but very durable. Some earlier 416/MR556 lowers were known to be a little tight, so certain mags (like older PMAGs) didn’t always drop free, while newer Gen 3 versions tend to work fine.In general, most people just run quality AR mags and call it a day—no need to overthink it unless you’re chasing a clone-correct setup.

I've managed to get every version, color, and capacity of their 416 mags. Too much money, but cool. I shoot with Gen-3 mags.
