HK UPS V5 - LEO Trade In Conversion/Update

V5 to V1 can you simply replace the (at a minimum)? 1) Hammer 2) Detent Plate 3) Sear Or is it all 10 parts in the post you linked? (Really 9 since you would have the safety/decocker lever on the left) The only really intimidating part being the trigger rebound spring as it seems pretty...

Tommy Built T36 Receiver will now be classified as a machine gun

Moving forward from here: Anything special that needs to be noted for dealing with the USPS and shipping these back to Tom? Declarations or whatsoever? My local PO had the BG-FRB boxes in stock. Just need to disassemble the rifle and box it up with the Form1 paperwork.

    VFG ok w/o SBR Stock?

The way I read the OPs post, it sounds like he had Form 1ed his weapon. In that case, the way I understand things is yes you can use a VFG, regardless if you attach a stock or not. However, I'm not an NFA lawyer. There are work arounds without registration, like BCMs "89*" VFG (the whole not...

Tommy Built T36 Receiver will now be classified as a machine gun

Choate is Toms partner for the actual receiver, not "he who shall not be named", just FYI. GSG9 (The Todd) only supplies the rest of the parts to complete the T36.

Tommy Built T36 Receiver will now be classified as a machine gun

Hypothetically speaking, does anyone have a template of a letter to send to the ATF to de-register a SBR?

Tommy Built T36 Receiver will now be classified as a machine gun

Less than desirable. This certainly adds significant issues to those who hypothetically have a registered SBR utilizing a T36 receiver. Pretty good of Tom to only charge $25 for those with registered receivers, however. Gotta be catastrophic to a small business financially.

    ATF eForms Unavailable

I had one (efile F1) approved in about 30days in mid-December. Just filed another F1 early January, expecting it to come back early February. Shortest I've ever had was about 2 weeks, but its been a few years back.

    Mag value.

Maybe one for reference purposes or taking pics for the internet I suppose. But I wouldn't pay a premium for them. Look at these the same as those grossly overpriced HK "Pmags" you see around. YMMV.

ATF NOW TAKING COMMENTS on Objective Factors for Classifying Weapons With “Stabilizing Braces”; Withdrawal of Guidance…. UPDATE #3 ATF

This is the likely course of action, particularly if the GA Senate races go (R). Politicians like to get re-elected. Its the 2nd term that Presidents tend to take the gloves off if they truly have an agenda.
