I don't have this issue with either of my HK45 pistols but I certainly wouldn't be shy of the LEM trigger in that gun. I have two HK45s and one of them is the "TGS" LEM and it is probably my favorite HK pistol to shoot. YMMV

Like just about every modern handgun out there, there is a firing pin block/safety in the slide that prevents the firing pin from moving forward unless the trigger is pulled. Other popular striker-fired guns that use a similar pre-cocked striker system are the Springfield XD, S&W M&P, SIG P320...

I think it's an excellent option for the USP (see my avatar). It is my primary HD gun and I have fired it extensively at the range without issue. I actually like the lower-output light for indoor HD. I don't have issues running the light and maintaining a grip, although folks with smaller hands may.

I think that there are a many people who have tens of thousands of rounds through their VP9 pistols and they have had zero issues. Ever seen a Glock trigger bar break? I have, but it doesn't mean I would not feel comfortable carrying one.

I've said this elsewhere, but the biggest "problem" that the VP9 has is internet misinformation. Some people (both HK fans and otherwise) just can't get over the fact that HK did something different and it was successful. I would have no issues carrying a VP9 and frequently carry a VP9sk.
