I went with the Heinie as I had seen more than a couple reviews about the XS front sight being loose in the dovetail. Anyhow I like them, dont distract from the dot but visable and usable with the dot off.
Also interested in this. But thinking the Heinie maybe a better choice as a large colored front sight is sometimes a distraction looking thru an optic.
I changed it over to Variant 9. I'll try that for a bit and see it I can get it to work. But did get a HK45C Variant 3 and have had none of the issues with it. I believe is heads and tails above the HK45 in fit and function for me any way.
Gave the bottom of the sight's operating range a try today. Let it sit outside for about 50 min while I walked the pup. Shake Awake worked. I was surprised the buttons were not stiff as I scrolled thru power setting and dot-circle modes. Cant say the same about buttons on a Sat phone or GPS...
Tony,
Not concerned about looks. Finish does seem to have penetrated into the metal as even the shiny areas are not showing any rust (yet). Just interesting how it shows more wear than my older more used HK's made in Germany.
Got a CA dated HK45 that hates me. 900 rounds since I picked it up in March and still can't make it work. End up holding the decocker down about 30% of draws so I was thinking a version 9 plate. But I also end up flipping the safety on during about 20% of mag changes so may have to go LEM...
Anyone else get an email from HK to enter? I am thinking it is a scam since we suck and HK hates us.
