Cabelas had the Athlon thermal on discount along with a Christmas sale along with no financing for 12 months special and with Cabelas points, I jumped into the thermal world for less than $500.
I love the quick release, which maintains zero. It has the ability to wifi to your phone to record or see what the shooter is seeing. Built in memory for 1 button recording or auto recording at firing.
Also has a ballistic app to upload your custom load to the thermal.
First is a white hot display video of my wife crouched down at night. This was a hand held video. No firearm was present.
The second video with a iron hot display, around 2pm, the day after Christmas. Had a large piece of cardboard on the target stand. The southern low sun was heating it up. But I was able to "see" the disposable hand warmer pack that was taped to the cardboard. The hand warmers are about 1½x3 inches.
I love the one shot to zero function.
