I don't see a lot of them, but one came through my office this week. A Marlin 1895. Was surprised to find that they are being made by Ruger now. I REALLY liked it.

Nice peep sight. If you haul it around in the woods in cold, wet, miserable weather where the deer hide under the cedars and you have to prod them out with the muzzle, stainless is the way to go. What caliber?

The one I transferred was 45-70 govt.

From 26" tapered octagonal barrel. only 50 yards but off hand by old boomer.

One forum said they shoot a foot high with rear sight at lowest point. This one did also but HSM CB ammo is near perfect.
