Picked up a 79 HK91 a couple months ago that’s mint, so I’m still new to the platform since it my first real 91. I don’t want to drill or weld on it for the paddle release and then have to worry about about matching the blue/gray color. Does anyone make a drop in paddle release like the ones made for the SP5?

You might want to look into a Tac-latch (I think its called this but correct me if wrong), the installation is reversible and drops in. However you are pushing the lever to the right to release the mag vs push forward on the paddle.
On a side note: My first 91 is blue/gray as well and I let Ralph Jr installed the paddle, he was able to match it up pretty good. Definitely wont be able to tell unless you bring out a magnifier and looking at all angles.
