Fresh from the 1980s - H&K XM9 prototype 10 round magazine – an extended magazine originally made for one of the 34 XM9 P7A10 prototypes. The magazine pictured will NOT fit into a standard P7 (PSP) without removing metal down the sides where the two mages were welded together OR by opening the magazine well a little more.
Heckler & Koch submitted three versions of pistols to the XM9 trails, the first prior to June 1981, was the P9 in its original specifications. They followed this with the P7A10, a modified P7 with an extended 10-round magazine and finally in 1984 - the P7A13 with a double-stack 13 round magazine and a US-style magazine release. The P7A13 was later sold commercially as the P7M13.
A total of 34 (or 35 depending on who you ask) XM9 P7A10s made in the 278XX serial range. The XM9 P7A10s are not a standard P7 with a 10 round magazine. The 10 round magazines WILL NOT fit into a standard P7. The XM9 P7A10s have an extended mag well, a different mag release, a phosphate finish and a few other small differences.
