I have had several people ask if it was something I could or would do, so why not…let’s try it.

This morning I started with a pile of parts and a stock 16” PTR 608 gun…4 hours later I had a fully functional SD SBR…..the worst part was I had to drill out the center of the barrel locking pin to collapse it as it was in there so darn tight.

Parts used for this conversion:

RCM SD barrel
RCM 120 degree locking piece
HKParts shroud
HKPart cocking tube
HKParts SD front sight assembly
B&T full size SD suppressor

The results speak for themselves and it shoots amazing. I grabbed commercial 115 gr ball ammo instead of my 124 NATO ammo, so that is part of the weaker ejection. I tried both a 115 and 120 degree locking pieces and the 120 functioned better.

I’ll shoot it some more and see how it progresses but all in all I’m very happy with the results. Now I have to decide…keep it or sell it? Lol

Here’s a video of the gun running-

Once I get it refinished….the question becomes-what do I do with it? I don’t “need” it but I’ve always kept my first guns….this is the first conversion I’ve ever done so I could keep it, but then again I know on the open market it would bring a nice chunk of change.

Took the day off from the full time job today so I could work in the shop, and finished two more of these conversions. They need test fire, sandblasted and coated then they will be for sale...if anyone is looking. SBR with the original PTR A2 stock and 12" B&T suppressor-$3,950 plus shipping. They will transfer out on Form 3's
