I’ve been building HK clone host guns for awhile and shooting the crap out of them to make sure they work and don’t come apart….I’ve also been building them for others as well.
As you can see in the thread in the “HK Clone section” I recently did a conversion gun where I took a PTR 9R-608 (16” 9mm MP5 host gun) and converted it to an SD host gun. I installed an RCM barrel and the other needed parts to make it into an SD. While going over the time taken and costs I discovered that it’s more cost effective to convert the PTR guns than it is to build ground up guns. That being said-would the market be amenable to a gun of the following build at the following price point:
PTR 608 base unit
RCM SD barrel (can sub in a B&T for additional cost)
HKParts SD cocking tube
HKParts SD shroud
HKParts SD front sight assembly
HKParts SD sealing ring
HKParts SD hand guard
B&T 12” suppressor
Refinish in black
All this and within a 60-90 days (given parts and donor gun are in hand) for $3,950 plus sales tax,NFA fees, shipping and handling. Would this be a price the market would accept or am I off base?
