Well, my father passed away today. He was a smart man, with many skills. He would have been 92, next week. I'll miss him, but glad he's out of his health/living situation...and with my mom, now.
No parents or grandparents left for me or my wife, now.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It isn't an easy process.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

Man, really sorry to hear about loss...Sending thoughts and prayers, definitely a tough experience to go through.

@MMissile My heartfelt condolences, I can relate.
We are all born to die, but that alone does not lessen the sting when those we love exit our lives.

I for one am glad to hear your father lived a long life.
My father whom I miss every single day was taken from me too soon at only 61 years young.
He never got to see my daughter or his grandchildren save one.
Everyday I see traces of his likeness, spirt, habits and traits, in the legacy he left behind in those faces.

For my part I do the best I can to honor and remember him everyday.
The only real deaths are reserved for those who go unremembered and unloved.
From the tone of your post I don't believe that will be the case for him and I believe he lives on in you.

I wish you inner peace during this most difficult time.
If you father was anything like mine he would not want you to suffer and grieve but rather embrace and take forward the best parts of him as you thrive.

Mike, may the memories overshadow the sorrow, very sorry to hear; dad went at 63 when I was 31 and miss him something fierce, from time to time I still could use his no nonsense advice. I’m happy that you had the time you did with him, all the best to you and your wife.
