After receiving my new MR556A4 SBR this last Saturday, I was a bit disappointed today finding that my Gemtech G5 Suppressor won't engage onto the Bi-Lock Quickmount Adapter that is common for use on any AR-15 platform. The MR556A4s Adjustable Gas Block protrudes forward just enough that it interferes with the Bi-Lock function and won't allow the suppressor to be pushed aft to engage the locking feature of the adapter.
Oh well, I thought, perhaps time for one of those new flow-through suppressors, right? Or...see if there's a Bi-Lock Adapter available or could be made that allows all Quickmount type suppressors to be used on this popular SBR platform. I sent suppressor manufacturer GSL a request to see what they have or can make for this situation, considering the GSL owner holds all the patents for many of Gemtech's suppressors; having left the company to start up GSL. GSL's Bi-Lock Adapters are interchangeable and will work with Gemtech suppressor with Quickmount Adapters and vice versa. Looking forward to hearing what they say.
