From time to time I entertain the idea of buying one of those Uberti Brown Bess reproductions.
I know it's not American per se, have always wanted a real flintlock to keep my old CVA Hawken company.
Then I read that the last American factor making real black powder was closed.

My G3Klone with a full, aluminum mag installed weighs 10.92 pounds.
It weighs 10.31 pounds with the regular stock installed.
That's a lot of steel.
Not exactly Garand heavy but still fairly dense.

So I recently learned of the short, slim handguard HK made a for the 223 rifles.
Evidently it is quite rare. I saw a picture of one (since deleted) over at the FALFiles. It looked pretty cool IMHO.

So I took my C93 bolt apart this morning. It's a buffered bolt. This whole buffered bolt thing is new to me.
Anyway, the buffer looked like it had never been disassembled. It was a crime scene in there.

It's just that site too. I went to Midway and Summit Racing, browsed for a bit, no problems.
It's definitely foreign. They use the Euro style dates with the month in the middle.
