    SP5/SP5K-PDW in RAL8000

RAL8000 was a standardized German camo color as far back as the late 30's, seen on armor and other military gear. Translated, the color description is Green-Brown. It does seem to vary widely nowadays from the samples I have, a lot more yellow. The FAL below was done according to a RAL8000...

For the Small Block Ford fans out there

A few years ago, I had a '59 Mercedes 4-door pontoon sedan. White. Outwardly cute & normal, we called him Magoo. It was built over Cal, dunno by who. Saw it in Mesa, AZ with a for sale sign in the window. The 351 Windsor, Holley 650 & blower, with a high-stall Art Carr box made it a LOT of...

Just a quick note to appreciate German engineering and precision. I took my 40-year old 91 to the range to sight in the handsome Steiner 4X (Thanks again, Tony!). One shot at 300m, it placed just outside the X ring. One click to the left, it was zeroed. Soft warm fuzzies there.

    SP5/SP5K-PDW in RAL8000

Looks like 8000 comes in several variants, even on the RAL color charts. Some more yellow, others more brown. I built a bush FAL rifle in a more-yellow 8000 and OD some years ago, blended well in the desert out here. Some WW2 German tactical vehicles were done with 8000 as one color of a...

Royal Armouries on the HK G11

Now we know why it just didn't go forward. If nothing other than a great test bed with exhaustive R/D, proving the concept is viable but the execution (ha) via the supply and soldier was just not proper for battle readiness. SR

The one HK that got away

Back in the late 80's I bought a SF G3 swingdown at a pawn shop for $1,200. I sold it at a gun show for $5,500 in the early 90's, that was top $ then.
