I’m looking at buying a Tommy built TG36 this week. I can’t decide on the 16.5” rifle or the 13” pistol. From the people who have experience shooting the G36 which so you prefer and why?

I have a Holosun 512 on the 45 and a Holosun 510 on the 9mm. I could see a full auto 45 UMP being unwieldy, but in semi auto it’s great. The full auto MP5 is like a sewing machine, almost no recoil. It’s a same the UMP wasn’t roller delayed.

At my house I have a cheap Everlast TIG welder. For a cheap welder it is awesome. At my shop I have a Miller TIG.

Sorry for the late reply. It’s a lot easier to weld those table and file it to fit. You could weld the slots on the stock but it would be harder to file it to fit. Also by welding those tabs, it’s all hidden under the cap on the stock.

I had a POF stock that wobbled really bad. There were two prongs on each side that had excessive clearance. I put a dab of weld on each end, then ground it down until it was just right. After that, the stock was rock solid.

I was never a big fan of .40 S&W. I passed on all the .40 USP trade ins.

You can parkerize pretty easy. I built a park tank from PVC with a water heater element in the bottom. It works great and take up little room. It has lasted about 7 years now. It can parkerize an entire barreled receiver.

The more I have been shooting my UMP clone the more I have been falling in love with it. It is such an amazing gun. I actually like it more than my MP5 clone. I could see how it wouldn’t be as pleasant to shoot in full auto. In semi auto it is amazing! I do not understand why it didn’t catch...

My G3K build is definitely one of my favorites.

Probably late on this one. I have two of the Omega Gideon Shadows. One is 45 and one in 9mm. The 9mm was great out of the box. The 45 had a tight chamber on the barrel. Omega sent a return label and I had it back on about a week and a half with a new barrel. It has functioned fine ever since...

In case anyone is wondering the HK parts Gen 2 mags feed just fine. The have metal re enforced feed lips.

So, how did it turn out?

Well after my wife handled my new gun. She decided she needed one too. Looks like I’ll be ordering another in 9mm.
