Any of you guys used the "training bolt" and the blue plastic DAG ammo for G3? Pro's/Cons? Experiences with those? Thinking about going the scrap bin here and welding up a dedicated gun for that setup (and painting it an odd color so I don't mix it up with others).

That silver mini is glorious. When I was rewelding my UZI kit I looked at how I could try to make a mini out of it, but the bolts are just non-existent these days and cutting the bolt down and rewelding THAT too seemed beyond my skill level.

Well, I got some "clarification" on why my form was disapproved, although I'm still not 100% sure I made any mistakes. I replied saying that there are no mfg markings on the receiver I used, since it was a flat piece of sheet metal that I bent & welded and finished myself. Their response was...

Flat Its not my first form 1, or even my first form 1 using a homemade receiver/tube. Used the proper FMI code, etc. Have emailed several times for clarification so when I try again it won't have the same problem.

Hey guys, any idea what this is here? FWIW, i tried pressing it into a CETME trunnion and lining up the pin channel and its waaaaaaaay off, like 1/4" away from where I usually see barrels set.

Do you modify the bolt carrier and/or cocking support? Or buy a 51 carrier? I've been sitting on a CETME kit and a 51 barrel but looking at the price added to buy a 51 carrier and the weird collapsing recoil assembly I think thats needed kinda kills the fun of a $99 CETME kit :(

I've got a RCM HK51 barrel kicking around for a project someday. The bolt carrier mods are likely beyond my skillset though. I always thought it would be neat to build one and use that "training bolt" with the blue plastic ammo.

Its certainly a neat piece. I dunno the difference between the models, or how much more/less desirable certain markings are over others. From my limited ventures into German stuff though, those two letters "H" and "K" seems to add a tremendous amount of value to anything they're put on though.
