93 Recoil Rod

Did the 93 type rifles ever come with a fixed recoil rod (like the 91)?

Does anyone know the reason for the difference in design?

I'd think that HK probably figured that someone would mistakenly put a HK93/33 stock on a G3, or think it would work on a MP5. Not a bad idea though; many a time have I put everything back together and then looked at the leftover recoil spring/rod assy staring back at me from the bench... Duh moment.

Yes. It looks better still since I removed the rail and scope
