AA12 shotgun ownership... it was a dream of mine so close to being finally realized

Gotta love great friends with similar interests. When I was really into the SIG stuff, Scotty at CFI would call me with anything SIG or HK. Those days are long gone. I'm thankful for the connections and sometimes friends I made in this hobby. 98% of the folks are great. I've lost a few over the years, also. :cry:

There was a day when I wanted a SPAS-15 really bad. I decided to purchase the SPAS-12 first since it was more common/affordable at the time and what a disappointment. I think that may have been the sexiest piece of garbage weapon system I ever purchased. The ergonomics on the SPAS-12 were abysmal IMHO. My sister and I took it to an indoor range at the time and shot a 5 round box of buckshot and slugs. After two slugs each we did not fire the last round. Man that thing kicked like a rabid mule and with that metal stock left both of us black/blue. That gun was gone within a few weeks. I still get a chuckle every time I see one for sale. It is definitely on my top 5 list of firearm let downs. Needless to say my interest in the SPAS-15 evaporated after the disappointment with the SPAS-12.

Man....you and shotguns. Stay away young lady. I only had mine for 2 days, so I didn't really "own" one.

Agreed. What an abortion of a weapon. I made a great friend at the OGCA show in Cleveland, due to us both having Spas-15's. He had very cool stuff too. Lost him some years ago, to an aneurysm in heart.

Man I remember the day when I purchased a USAS-12... it was a very long time ago back in my somewhat newbie days. It was my very first class 3 purchase and was done off of GB. I never even got to hold it in my hands. This was back before the days before the "Trusts" work around and back then your NC county sheriffs dept had to sign off on it. Well after 18 months of going no where with the sheriffs dept I gave up and cancelled the purchase. It cost me a 30% restocking charge... OUCH. I will never forget nor forgive them for that one. I have still yet to get to hold or shoot a USAS-12. It used to be on my grail list. I kind of lost interest after that fiasco and almost forgot about it after I knew the AA12 existed. I remember when I first saw the AA12 on "Future Weapons"... I almost gave birth to a goat... lol. I jumped on my computer and went crazy looking for one for sale and to see if any semi auto versions existed since it was now unfortunately a SOT only weapon platform in FA. Man what a letdown when I saw that it was only a pipe dream. Now people may understand my excitement then incredible disappointment with what happened with Sol Invictus Arms AA12 situation. Ugggg... yet another firearm dream unrealized.

There will be highs and lows in gun collecting--- the USAS 12 is still available--- make sure you look for the Gilbert Equipment Company import ("factory" built), and not the INTERORD Corporation model ("parts" build). ;)

Thanks Tony... sage advice and I will definitely keep that in mind now that my dream of the AA12 is dead... the only other similar shotgun is the USAS-12. I am not purchasing any more firearms till I see how this Biden disaster is going to unfold. I'll be lucky to keep what I still have if they do all they say they want to do. I'll have to sell one of my kidneys to pay the taxes. If they make it annual... I don't know what I will do. Either way it is a disaster if you ask me.

@MMissile

Well it has been a long journey for me with shotguns. After finding out I could not get an AA12... I got into Saiga 12's when they first hit the market. I had two of them all decked out with all of the trimmings. I kept those for a while but eventually sold them off. To be honest I thought they were a little awkward to wield with the drum on and jammed too darn much. I decided to stop buying tacticool shotguns and I now have two Benelli M4's instead. They may not have the cool look of a drum fed shotgun but they are crazy reliable and I would trust my life to them. To be honest I've probably already purchased my last shotgun because the older I get the less I like all of that recoil. I know I know... wimp city... lol.

I currently have one shotty. Benelli M1 Practical. It's currently wearing all the factory tactical pieces. I've never fired it, and may never. I've owned a bunch, but just never really liked them. I had one of these for about 2 weeks. EVERYBODY who fired it, said "SCREW THAT!". It was brutal, to say the least. It cracked the hand guard in the first 10 rounds.

Man I'm hurting just looking at that picture... lol.

Probably the coolest one I owned, was a HK-Benelli M3. I bought it as soon as they were released. That was a long time ago, and I enjoyed it. I had Magna-Port, Pro-Port it. It really made it nicer to fire.

Man that thing looks sweeeeeeeeeeet!!! I considered getting a HK marked M3 before I just purchased my 2nd M4 but the reality is I suck with pump shotguns so there was really no need to get the dual function of the M3 for me. Also I figured commonality would be good to maintain for spare parts reasons but I admit I was tempted to get one. In the end I decided to go with the another shotgun I already knew instead of one I didn't.

LOL.....I never pumped a single round thru the gun. But, it was the flagship offering. So....

Here's my only shotgun. M1 Practical/Tactical conversion. It's very dusty, awaiting destiny
