Bullets catching the sunlight

That’s like watching the bullet heat shimmer trail at the 600 yard bullseye competition. On a nice hot day, your spotter sometimes sees not only the “V” trail but the golden streak enroute the target.

I've been a long range shooter for over 12 years. My best is 3 out of 5 shots at a mile (1760 yards) at a competition. shooting a 260 Remington. It's called trace. It's actually a vapor trail. it is really cool when you see it. in these matches you have a partner. you are the spoter and he is your spotter.
