I appreciate the compliment but it really isn't true. I get crap wrong all the damn time. In fact, I'm going to prove it. Looking more at the 233 pic on HK's site, they photoshopped the retro fit out! @Barn Owl Lover is undoubtedly correct and they assigned the 233 designation to that version regardless if they started with a standard G36 receiver as the host. Check out how the handguard edge vanishes where it would transition to the receiver! What is also curious is the 233 isn't an option on the drop down boxes, you have to google the model to reveal the HK website page. I am not sure what to make of that.
 
I think it never made it to production, as customers kept buying the standard G36, and the 433 basically has made the 233 and G36 obsolescent/obsolete within HK's line up. I can see the 433 family replacing the G36-based rifles in HK's line up/for those who don't want the AR-15/AR-10 based 416 or 417 type rifles.
