Hi to All!

I was a 1911 shooster for a year, then a GlockTard for about two more and realized that I was getting tired of them. Don’t get me wrong, Glocks are a good choice for weapons. But, IME they are not nearly as reliable as they are purported to be. Especially the Gen 5 9mm models. And, they are boring.

Last week I was running some drills with a non-modified G43 and had a stovepipe. Last straw.

I’m at the point in my shoosting life where I want a factory CCW pistol that fits my needs. No pimping, no reliability issues, no printing, and as little ergonomic compromise as possible. Two weeks of attempting to decide if I want another Wilson (SFX9) led me to decide that I would prefer to try something less expensive. After all, if you find a good carry weapon you need two of them. Right?

After calling around I found a new P30SK-V3 and picked it up. Feels really good, shoots well, but that first DA pull is just too much for my little trigger finger. First shots were pushing left (right-handed), but SA follow ups were great and split times weren’t too bad considering it was the first time with a new pistol.

More searching led me to a used 2007 9mm P2000SK that was marked V3 on the box. Noticing the bobbed hammer and dry firing made it immediately apparent that it had been converted to V1. Lord knows who did the work, and I typically won’t purchase a second-hand pistol. Took the chance anyway.

The Light-LEM is awesome! Pistol runs sortof 100% (100 on standard velocity range ammo & 100 1200FPS range ammo) except for two failures to lock back on empty. Could have been riding the slide stop though. Might need new mag springs. Not sure yet. Split times are suffering due to the monstrous reset….but it’s only the first day. I ran out and found a new .40 P2000SK-V2 that had been sitting on the shelf since 2014 and picked it up for $559.

I’m going to commit to the P2000SKs for the next year to see how things develop. With the exception of a P7 PSP I had twenty years ago, these are my first HKs. Certainly the first HKs since I became serious about all this shoosting stuff.

Looking forward to taking part in the forum!

Welcome to the site, and congratulations on the acquisitions. :)
Practice is the best of all instructors. ;)

Welcome to the site!!!
im a 1911 person as well, but made the switch to HK including my CCW.
The only think I will say is, don’t compare the triggers! Nothing beats a 1911 trigger and the two are Apples To Oranges.
i carry a P2000SK that has a Grey Gun SRT that helped a bit and works well for the weapon. It’s nice but it is not a 1911 trigger and more than likely should not be one!
Enjoy the foray to No Comprises!
