HK M27 Build

I would like an HK M27. My current options that I am considering are below.
Black Ops offers a conversion from an MR556 to and M27. It would still have the original MR556 serial number. But everything else looks very authentic and most parts are HK.
Purchase a STS lower and either wait for their upper, buy a real 416 upper, or haus upper. Then I would have to source all of the parts. The advantage would be the custom serial number. Versus the HK MR556 serial number.
Questions:
Is the serial number worth the extra work?
Would it be worth more and closer to the M27 having the MR converted?
What have others done?
Anything else that I should consider?

I would go the conversion route with the HK556A1.
You will probably not ever recoup your cost, whichever route that you choose.
Another, more expensive option would be purchasing (and possibly registering as an SBR) an HK MR223 (pistol/11” and 16” barrels), a HAENEL CR223, or a BT-15 CR223, with 922(r) parts.
