The Portuguese Army may've adopted the FN SCAR to replace the HK G3 after many years of faithful service, but Army Commandos prefer the 416.

Photo Of The Day - It is time for Portugal and have a look at what their Special Forces have in their armoury. We're looking at photos from their recruiting campaign, and as you can see there is a nice variety of old and modern Heckler & Koch rifles as well as Galils.

Also, the Navy are upgrading their G3s with Sphur hardware, too, as noted in the TFB article.

Any specs or part list on these, is that a heavy barrel they're using on that?

They're using standard A5 profile barrels on those 416s. We don't really get into the lighter profile barrels until the 416A5 Project Hunter rifle and the 416A8/G95A1.
