I'm pretty sure this New-Old Stock "Black Pistol" HK45 is/was in fact black, but the green frame was making me question my eyesight.
I'm a bit puzzled at the barrel & upper markings (lack of); save the paint job, is this what HK Columbus GA is putting out nowadays, neutered markings on the slide & barrel?
Nice paint job though but the lack of white paint in the safety selector 'notch' and the green paint covering the ejector was a dead giveaway. Wonder how these paint jobs will hold up over the years...

Definitely seems to be an aftermarket coating job, I would avoid. For the record, current production HK45 pistols made in the US do not have slide markings. The barrel serial on these guns is on the left side of the barrel and the slide serial is under the rear sight.

I agree it appears to be an aftermarket coating. The only green HK45c's that I am aware of were the German ones that came thru Arms Unlimited a few years back.

HKUSA did make Green HK45/C pistols back in the day but they also had the slide markings at that time.

1 of 28 if I recall...and I may know where one with a SerNo. that is '15' lower than your serial number. ;)
I like the original slide markings; the new neutered versions don't appeal to me.

Thanks Tony; you are a wealth of information.
Curious why HK45C with CA Date Codes don't have the Ulm Stag Horn Proof mark whereas the full size HK45 does; well, at least the tan frames have...

Tony, I'd add that the font changed somewhere between the BF and CA date coded HK45 & HK4C models where the '4' on the BF models is a 'open 4' and the CA is a 'closed 4'; the '5' is also noticeably different too. The '.45 ACP' marking on the BF is noticeably smaller than CA version. But you probably already know the person who did this, along with their birthday and blood type. Geeze, I hate my closet OCD that runs in the family.

Thank you for the compliment. :)
Many markings changed in CA (20). ;)
