HK91 Steel Mags/Differences

Tried to look for information on this, but coming up empty handed.

I came across some 91 mags I had in a box and noticed some are stamped 7.62x51 and IE below it. Date code would be 1981 but is the stamping correct and are they Genuine HK mags?? All my other mags are G3-1960's mags.

Yes thank you! I mistyped....fingers yanno.

So did HK start marking them '7.62 x51' and a 2 digit date code in the 80's or something?

Steel G3 mags beat up the mag well if you shoot any quantity.

The alloy mags don't, and last forever anyway.

I have a few steel mags w.7.62 and HI date codes
 
I have not seen an HJ. The bulk of my mags are early 60s surplus both HK and Rhinemetall. The three HI date coded one actually came with an HI date coded 91. Push button floorplate as well.3473A6B9-1431-4A23-BCF9-826F97E03B6E.jpeg0C79FC2D-F291-4E06-A537-F59C19B9346B.jpeg
