HK94 SerNo Sequencing Question

How can this HK94 (IK Date Code) have a lower SerNo than my (former-since converted) HK94 (II Date Code)?
Jeesch, I know I'm getting old, so I had to count several times on 'nine' fingers and say my A B Cs out loud, and every time, II comes out as '88, then skip letter 'J', therefore IK is '89...so what's going on here?

My guess would be photoshop. :unsure:
I actually have 43-12998 in the Firearms Reference Data, and it is date-coded "IH". ;)
It had a bolt head date-coded "IG", consistent with that SN range. :)
"IK" started @ 43-15300. :giggle:

Might really be IH but looks like IK due to angle, lighting, and blur...

Reminds me of the blue/black dress illusion several years ago.

Of course, Tony comes though once again.
As for Date Codes, I'm still going to keep counting with my fingers. May need to get my Lasik checked though.
