Thinking of replacing theTrane 11 Seer heat pump after 20 years . Was thinking of Carrier but after reading about Bosch I am leaning in that direction.

Any thoughts - BAD or GOOD?

Per my reading energy costs should offer about a 5% savings.

House is all electric - no gas. Don't want LP gas . Don't have natural gas.

Thanks!

Spend the extra $$ and go Bosch. I think you'll only do it once, because they've lasted FOREVER for us.

As for the battery in your other post.......how much time before you recoup your investment???? Is it
worth it?

If it's installed correctly then lasting forever is a good thing.;) One dealer is Platinum and one dealer is Silver I think. Bosch Customer Service didn't know what the levels mean, I assume it's the number of units contractor sold and installed.

No idea if Solar is really worth it. Just trying to do my part to save the planet. Tesla said you can figure about 9 - 10 years for repayment (Not in writing) of initial investment (But batteries only are warrantied for 10 years and currently its $ 25K for 2).

The other contractor 17 years (in writing):ROFLMAO:

Personally......I'd bypass that "investment". You'll probably not recoup. Just my $.02.

Buy $25K worth of sears and you'll triple your money inside of 10 years.

Cheers!!!!!

Solar for back-up only. ;)

Tony
Yes. But how?

Is there a house generator that runs Solar. Had a gas powdered generator to run esentials and the house is hard wired for it. Putting in a Solar to do the same thing works for me. I was wanting sometime less expensive then complete Solar install that would work.

Thanks. I am about 95% moving forward with Bosch. Getting prices for the system w/ install.

Solar is still up in the air, but if I could somehow get a "day generator" with solar - that would be an " insurance investment" I would gamble on.

Can't speak to the heat pump, but I splurged on a Bosch dishwasher based on low dB's and reliability reputation. Still loving it 9 years later.

I have very happy with Bosch “things “.

I have thinking about solar as well. I have not been able to find details on the payoff that I am comfortable with.

Talk to many contractors - listen and learn. Do your own research and lots of it. Do different searches using different key words. Prices - believe it or not varied greatly. Know what your power usage is today and how it may increase tomorrow (ie adding EV vehicles, adding freezer, etc). Techonology is constantly changing and improving). I found someone who only does Solar and has been doing Solar for 20+ years. All positive reviews on-line - great site videos - etc..
