Here in Florida, I shoot locally for a club that has a myriad of matches. One such match is the 60'/30' match using a B8 target.
I generally shoot it with a Beretta 92FS that I did a trigger job on, got a Langdon tactical trigger bar, lighter springs. I had a gentleman
from PA put a barrel bushing on it to tighten the barrel to slide tolerance. It is as tight as a duck's a$$ under water and contributes to
it's accuracy. We shoot the 60'/30' match (open sight, no red dot), 15 rounds at 60' and 15 rounds at 30'. My best score is a 291, with
the Beretta.
I bought the VP9L-B slide to see if I could do any better. No, I have not shot it yet, but I am anxious to shoot it this Wednesday
and see how it compares to the Beretta (of course, after I sight it in b/c it has adjustable sights).
I searched all over the internet for the adjustable sight VP9L-B version but no luck. Suddenly, I found one on Ebay, NIB.
Everyone was selling the non-adjustable long slide version for $375 to $499. The seller was asking $225.00 so I bid on it.
Originally, HK sold them for close to $500.
I was totally surprised that I was not outbid. It arrived and was as advertised, NIB. Not a scratch or mark on it. It was dry of
all lubrication. I lubed it and put it on the frame of my standard VP9. It fit like a glove.
After sighting in and shooting it for score I will report back whether it was a good investment or not. Hopefully, I will shoot
it well enough that I won't be embarrassed to show my target.
