I’m toying around with converting my USPC into a Lem trigger for carry. Curious on other experiences and thoughts on the trigger. Is it easier (not sure if that’s the word to use) maybe user friendly than the DA/SA? I’ve only dry fired the lem and I’m not the best DA shooter. Definitely need more range time on it.

My first HK was a P30sks V3 and my 2nd was a P2000sk V2 LEM. Personally I prefer the LEM and have only purchased the rest as LEM or have converted the others to LEM. It does take practice and getting used to but I enjoy shooting the LEM over a DA/SA configuration. The conversion is not hard and @TooSixy has a great tutorial available for doing so. Depending on the model year you plan to convert you may need to change the catch.

The LEM trigger is my preferred carry trigger, specifically a hybrid 4.1/TGS LEM. (Basically a light LEM converted to 4.1 but with a medium/heavy TRS depending on the model) I have done a few LEM conversions and they are quite easy to do if you take your time and have a good set of directions. I can now convert DA/SA to LEM or back from memory without needing the diagram, so it certainly isn't difficult.

I can't shoot the LEM on any HK platform. That's just me though. I try every couple of years, but they always get relegated to the marketplace. Happy to have options though.

Love the LEM. I just like the DA/SA. My entry into HK was the USPc’s. Started with all V1’s…don’t like manual safeties on carry guns so I changed them to V3’s. Then I discovered LEM and every HK pistol I currently own is in LEM save for a USP45c stainless that I still have set up in it’s original V1.

Unfortunately, it's been nearly impossible for many months to find LEM kits anywhere. So there's that. You can find most of the individual parts from HK, MGW, and Numrich. The one part you will not find right now is the LEM axle (214258), unless someone around here has spares they want to sell (if so, I'll buy!).

As my screen name might suggest, I'm a huge fan of the LEM trigger. It's certainly a polarizing trigger mechanism. I like them for several reasons.

For one, in the USP series, the side-mounted safety levers compromise grip. I am all about performance when it comes to grip method. To me, that means an aggressive and high thumbs-forward grip. The safety lever gets in the way of that with your primary hand. If your primary hand grip is compromised like that, it forces your support hand to be lower than normal and then you see a reduction in consistency and performance with your recoil control and follow through. This isn't subjective, and you can see the difference if you measure it with a shot timer.

Another factor, consistency. The transition between DA and SA pulls can be trained, and it's not a huge deal to get used to that. I've shot SIGs and Berettas for years, though I've been shooting and carrying Glocks heavily for the past ~15yrs. I have a high degree of reps on striker-fired guns. It's an ROI thing. The LEM trigger feels a bit like a much longer striker-fired trigger. I don't have to think about it, I just pull it, and it's the same with every pull. Additionally, no need to ever mess with decocking, so one less manual of arms.

I had a P30sk in LEM. Very smooth trigger. Having said that, I still prefer a DA/SA trigger.

I have 15 years behind the LEM trigger, it is a good trigger out of the box on a duty pistol. On a P30L I sent it off to Rick H at Lazy Wolf Guns, he transformed a good trigger into a dream trigger, smooth, crisp with a fantastic reset. I Know it is expensive but the quality of work is outstanding and you get what you pay for. He also did my VP9's while he worked at Grays Guns.

I converted my USP 9C to LEM and have no regrets. I think I used toosixy's videos but am not sure. IIRC it was done in a series of four 15 minute videos, step by step.

To this day I feel like the LEM (Perhaps tied with the Walther P99AS trigger) is the best carry trigger ever made*. Once one gets used to how the trigger works/feels, it is extremely intuitive, and there is a level of safety not found on the majority of striker-fired options.

*Waiting for the P7 guys to come after me for that statement

I appreciate all the information. Looks like a have a decision to make whenever the lem kit comes back in stock. I’ll probably give it a try unless I get comfortable shooting the DA/SA. WAY TO MANY CHOICES FOR MY BRAIN.

I have a Match trigger in my compact. HK installed it. It works well. I don't like DA triggers....especially in a wheel-gun.

I am surprised HK actually installed a Match trigger in a Compact, knowing that the Match trigger itself (and the stop screw) does not work in that tiny trigger guard. Or maybe they just put in 2 parts out of the whole Match Trigger Kit. I hope they did not charge you for the whole kit.

I’m not too crazy about LEM’s. I cant really tell the improvements over a Glock trigger, or at least anything to goo goo Gaga about.
now give me a 1911 trigger and I am ready for Armageddon!
To be clear, to each his own, i have nothing against someone’s preference.

I don't remember or care. It works better, and has a hammer.

I shoot better with it. Seems lighter and more suited to my shooting. I like a hammer. I pull hammers, while drawing pistols.
I’ll give a shot and see what happens… although I don’t know about pulling the hammer while drawing… Im Not as bad ass as you!

I like a hammer as well and drool over an awesome trigger!
thanks for the input!
