Looking into an MP5SD kit. Is this a good one? Builder recommendation?

First post here, after my intro.

I’m looking for a new roller delayed pistol, later to make it into a SBR.

I have an MP5 clone, so I don't want the new gun to be too similar. The SP5K-PDW is sexy, but shooting a B&T APC9-SD is making me wanting an MP5-SD. It's so cool shooting regular 9 mm ammo and getting the sound performance of subsonic rounds.

I came across MP5-SD kits at several vendors, but this one looks good as it comes with the receiver flat (sorry, can't make the pic any smaller):

MP5 experts, what do you think of this kit? Good to go? .Any better suggestions?

Also, who do you recommend that I use as a builder?

Hey @beanz2 !!!

Just a recommendation.....contact Ralph at RDTS.....and tell him I sent you. He has the best builds, and his MP5SD H.E {High Efficiency Suppressor} is quieter than HK's.

I've got one......and it's better than I ever thought.

Cheers and welcome!!!!!

Line up a builder first, then deal with the kit.

For a clone I second Ralph at RDTS, but would also suggest checking with his son Ralph Jr, who is on facebook and instagram. The son is also a great builder who has gone out on his own and sometimes has great deals.

For kits, I always lookj for German parts.

I also strongly dislike doing business with HKParts.net, as I feel they are a completely unethical and criminal business.

HkParts...I avoid them at all costs. They are the Cheaper than Dirt of the HK world.

Thanks for the replies. I'm now asking Revolution Rollerlocks and Ralph Jr. for a quote. Do I need to supply my own parts kit? I'm such a newbie in HK world, I have no idea where to look for the parts if a kit I find isn't complete.

Thats a question for the builder. Last I talked to Ralph Jr he was suppling all German demilled parts kits for his builds and was very competitive on pricing. A German parts kit is the creme de la creme, don't let anyone tell you different.

"Normally".....you say, "I want X", and they just make it happen. I've never done business with Ralph Jr., so I can't say anything eiter way.

Ralph Senior has always hooked me up. I won't even say how many of his I've got. It's embarrassing.

Keep us updated on the build--- and pictures, upon completion.

I’ll be the black sheep and say I like HKparts.net

They have always treated me right. I have always received stellar customer service. Their description of the parts condition is always spot on. The US manufactured parts are very nice also. The flat in that kit is great. I have rolled a few of them.

as long as you have a builder that will accept that kit. It will be a good choice. For me personally doing my own builds I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it.

OK, so I have put a 50% deposit with Revolutionary Roller Locks for a build. I'm really excited! I'm getting a top rail added as my eyes aren't as good as they used to be and will need some sort of an optic. Also am asking for an ACR stock adapter as an end plate because it will be made into an SBR.

I'm asking ECCO Fabrication and Machine if they can make me an adapter to run a standard Omega pattern can on the SD. Anyone have a technical drawing of the SD barrel with the sizes?
