Lost our last girl......

My sincere condolences to you. My Abby passed a few years ago. She set the bar very high. Havent really been able to connect with any of the pups we have now. They click with my two boys which makes me happy. Ya know a boy and his dog. Now I have gotten very very close with a cat my wife wanted to rescue. Taz....Taz is my buddy and follows me like a duckling. We talk often and he wont talk to anyone else but me. He really likes to be in the man cave and he even has his own stool at my work bench next to mine.

Awww--- same love, just different. ❤️

I was still grieving over my daddy's girl [Sara], from a few months back. Those two were such a great thing for each other and myself.

Last piece of "cold" in the yard a few springs ago. They'd fight over it.

They were "pistols", always causing a ruckus.

Well, it appears that we've rescued another "pistol". This girl is a 9-10 year-old, who acts like she's 3-4. She's extremely stubborn, but couldn't be happier in her new home....after only about 40 hours. It was an 11-hr. day of driving to get her on Thursday. It appears that it will be well worth it. She's another typical rescue from a sad situation. Her name was Kneesha[Neesha], but she's already answering to her more Russian name of Meeshka/Mishka. She's a beauty, and everybody is settling-in, quite quickly and nicely.

Good looking canine. ;)

Pets are the thing that ends our search for completeness, even tho they are so ephemeral.

I suppose that is so we can have many in our lifetime to compound the love.

I believe the profound grief we feel when losing a dog [pet] is our "payment", for all the extreme and pure joy, love, laughs, companionship....that they give us in such a short time. Constantly, willingly, and without any strings on their end. They are selfless, and only live to please their human partners. They don't need much, but give so much.....pure love.

I "borrowed" this, below......I like it.

I gotta laugh. Meeshka is almost 10. We could have rescued a puppy, and got the same thing. Going thru her vet records last night, we found she was a "handful" for the original owner. Apparently, this woman got a Husky without any knowledge of the breed. Add her having been boarded and rescued over the last 8 months....she needs basic puppy training again. She's a real fruit-loop, and gets the zoomies, like a 1 year-old pup. I have to take a direct, but loving approach with her. She's very attentive and loving, but talks back at anything she doesn't like[LOUDLY], barely responds to any commands [she does know them] and thinks she's gonna be an alpha. WRONG....not her role. We already love her and will "stay the course"....and she's no more messed-up than any of the others we've taken in. They're all just messed-up differently. She'll calm down. She's just very excited to be in a "home" again.
