I ordered a couple fancy new 30rd German magazines for my C93. I tried one out this morning. Both interfere with the bolt. I cant cock the rifle with one installed
It's only the new magazines. The rifle came with an old, metal 20 round mag that works fine. I also have a plastic 20rd ProMag that allows full function.
Any ideas? Anyone ever heard of this issue before?
 
I have no experience with the 33/53/93 series guns, but I don't think I have a single roller locked HK style gun in any caliber that will take every single mag I own. Some are more picky than others.

As much as it sucks to ever so slightly file down the catch portion on such an expensive mag, thats probably about all you can do short of modifying the magazine catch arm in the release itself. Unless something else is out of whack that I'm missing here.

When you say you can't cock it with the magazine installed, will it feed/function/cycle if loaded "open" and slapped shut?

I have found that with certain Century models (C93P), for some reason, I have had to file the rear portion of the feed lips on my HK mags to get them to feed properly. The lower part of the bolt that pushes the round out of the magazine would hit the back of the mag and not feed properly.
I have never had an issue with actually cocking the weapon with a mag installed though.
 
So I got to thinking about the result of adjusting the mag catch since the known issue was the new magazines and not the gun.
I dressed the upper edge of the catch "slot" in the HK mags with my Dremel. Took about .030" off each and the gun works perfectly.
The trim allowed the magazine to sit a smidge lower. Easy fix. Easier than wrestling with that tiny roll pin in the mag release button.
