Modern take on the M23 light mount

With the popularity of SD’s these days, and the amount of guys looking for the old school SureFire M23 clamp on light mounts, I came up with a single rail, modern take on the M23. This unit would allow you to mount a SureFire Scout Light (as shown) or be able to mount an IR unit as well. I would be able to make the fir suppressors from 1.4” to 1.54” in diameter (original SD suppressors are 40mm/1.54”)

I’m going to make a couple in the 1.4” configuration as well as the 1.54” to see how they clamp and stay in place. If I could keep it to only two different bore sizes, that would be great. Will see how that goes and report back.

However.......it's Christmas, and, well.....it's Christmas. Maybe this spring after taxes???

This will fit a MP5SD right? {i.e., RDTS MP5SD}

Yes this is going to be done with various bore sizes to accomidate different suppressor OD's.

Side note-the 1.4" Bore size weighs in at 3 oz......I'll be curious to see what the 1.54" Bore comes in at.

Did a redesign today and sucked the light closer to the suppressor. It now sits 1/8” off the hand guard. Going to look at putting slots on the outsole of the body to aid with cooling also. More to follow as this develops.
