I rode dirtbikes as a teen, then swore them off, when my best-friend got killed on one at 19 years of age. He was doing something stupid, and the driver of the car wasn't paying attention. Both or nobody's fault. Ten years later....sportbikes really grabbed me. I rode for 35 or so years, and only went down twice. I got hit by a friend's bike in Daytona/ Bike-Week in 87, and slid on a dewy painted-line going into a left-turn lane around 1990. Both really hurt, but no cars were involved....or trees. As I posted earlier...Suzuki was my weapon-of-choice. I post some pics later....

Probably the rarest bike I ever owned. XN-85 Turbo. Slow, but had Katana hints of stying....and the only bike I regret selling. I bought it on an ebay auction in the middle of the night. It was a charity selling it, and had VERY low miles on it.000_0507.JPG

Yeah... dirt bikes growing up and living in the country. I rode mine for almost 2 decades. As far as street bikes go... I like breathing too much and a few of my HS class mates got splattered within a few years of graduation. That was more than enough proof for me to not even think about getting a street bike.

I first had a Suzuki Trail Hopper 50... then a DS80.. then an RM80. I rode that RM80 till I was way too big for it. It was an awesome bike but was way too loud... the neighbors hated it... lol.

Adrenaline toys, have risks. Gotta protect yourself, the best ya can. Your awareness is most important. It was hard to get my first bike.
When my best friend died, I stopped at the accident scene because I saw a friend's car at the scene. When I walked up to him, I saw my best friend dying. That particular moment, probably had more impact on my mindset than anything else I've experienced. When you're 19, you're supposed to be invincible. Mortality was implanted into my brain.

My 1st bike was a 2002 Yamaha R6. Had it for about 2 1/2 years and put about 35k miles on it. Loved it but it was alittle small for me (6'3" 260#). Next bike was a 2001 Hayabusa. LOVED it. Had it from '05- till 2 months ago. Put 65k miles on it and ended up selling it. That thing was a blast to ride every time I got on it.

Ended up selling it and with a few extra $ I saved up I ended up getting a 2018 Camaro ZL1.

My first bike was a BMW K1200RS, sold it after I got pulled over by a Traffic Homicide detective, who said he wanted to look at the body before the homicide!
Bought a ‘03 Harley Road King and loved it.... when I was doing 60 mph it felt like i was doing 120 mph on Beamer!
Traded the Road King for a 2017 Road Glide Special with the Milwaukee 8 engine and love it!

I have calmed down quite a bit but still scratch the boards whenever I can!!!

Going from a 600 to the Busa, was like getting an auto-trans....LOL

Thanks. That bike was a milestone bike. First year, bird colors, 6K miles, and 99% stock[windshield and Buell pegs]. Definitely a collection piece. 99 and 2000 bikes had no speed limiters, so still the fastest production bike built. I never went any indicated faster on a bike. I went an indicated [not actual] 186 on it. My early GSXR's had cable speedo's, later bikes are all electronic. GPS is the only accurate way to know,

I rode dirt bikes growing up but picked up my first road bike in 2014, a 1200 HD Sportster. I sold it a couple years later after seeing an accident where an elderly couple pulled out in front of a bike and he T-Boned them, killing him instantly. Rumor was he was heading to meet his wife and young daughter at a local frozen yogurt shop. Having a wife and young son myself, I decided to sell it.

The 2021 online reveal for Harley Davidson is next week...

I really want to see the new Pan America. I'm interested.

The "adventure" bikes are too big for me. I think I might buy a 650 dual-sport, and put a small windshield on it.

Here's another bike I really liked. It it had been EFI, I'd still have it. ZZR1200

My knees cant handle that riding position for too long. Used to ride a BMW sport/tour bike, 500 mile days would kill me, hence the GS.

I used to be a Mopar guy...in another life. Had a nice 69 'Bee. B5 blue, 440, set of Herb McCandless 906 heads, good torque converter, 4 wheel disc brakes.

Damn.
