MP5SD-Hybrid with new prototype rail unit

Thought I’d drop a couple pics of one of the MP5SD-Hybrid guns I’ve been working on this weekend. I used one of the prototype integrated rear sight/rail systems that fellow a member on the other HK site came up with. This is the first one to be mounted on a gun and I must say it’s AWESOME! I’ll post reviews of it once I get more time behind the gun…..I’ve got 3 more SD’s to give a couple minor tweaks to and then engrave.

With this rail it allows for a co witness with your irons OR you can change your head position and run it like an AR-keeping your irons in the lower 1/3 of the window. I’m going to slot the front sight ring to have a clear line of sight while using the lower 1/3 option.

Thoughts on this?

Yeah i thought so, they look nicer and more integrated with the rear sight than a straight pic rail on the top plus there is no easy way to scrape your knuckles on the front since its tapered and has a nice bevel.

Here’s a traditional SD build for a client. These are coming out nicer and nicer….I’ve done 8 SD’s now (I think)

I even got creative today and engraved my company logo onto the SD-Hybrid with that rail….that was a trick for programming.
