Aren't muzzle thingies supposed to be permanently attached?

I just got home from my LGS to pick up my C93. The muzzle thingy is loose and has never been permanently attached. No evidence of any solder at all.
I'm going to take advantage of the situation by adding a US made device but wanted to verify the need to solder it.

So the muzzle thingie is obviously US made. It doesn't have any stamps on it, but it also doesn't have the retaining spring.

Probably the reason for the wobble--- no need to pin or solder--- or to buy another flash hider--- just get the appropriate part. ;)

I meant that that it wasn't torqued, not that there was play in it. I unscrewed it by hand.
It fits very nicely.
