P2000 hammer spur removal

Hello everyone.

I just wanted to provide an update on some of the successes I've managed to have, by making a few additional changes to my P2000. I went ahead and replaced the (I believe) 14lb hammer spring, with an 11lb spring, replaced the firing pin block spring with a light spring, and replaced the trigger return spring - with the Match grade TRS. Just to confirm that I've maintained the 100% reliability HK is known for, I wanted to wait to post, until I had managed to fire 500 rounds down range without any issues. I'm happy to let everyone know the P2000 is as good as it has always been, and have significantly reduced both the DASA trigger pulls. Originally my double action pull was just north of 11lbs. Now I am consistently pulling a crisp 7lbs 9oz. As for the Single action pull that was originally 4.5lbs, I am now at a constant 3lbs 3 oz. Although light, it still provides a slight take up prior to the break, which makes it still a comfortable carry option. I've always loved the P2000. But the slight mods recently done, this firearm without a doubt ranks as my favorite weapon.

Thanks for the update. ;)

I just wanted to update the thread, in the event this could help others, who may be curious. After taking a few stabs deep into the hammer Spur, I had realized the majority of it is rubber. Although not completely flush (as seen on the LEM model), I was able to Dremel down enough of the Spur, to eliminate the discomfort of the padding stuck between my skin, and that hidden muscle😉. One benefit I found, this still leaves plenty to thumb back for a SA shot (for those who desire).
It's not the prettiest, but my sitting gut now approves..
Hey Tom.
Thank you for this excellent update. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a USPc with a bobbed hammer, and I always wondered why the P2000sk didn't have this option. Can you reply back with a quick step by step of what you did. I know it sounds pretty self-explanatory, but I'd like to follow a path of success if possible.

I added a hammer to my compact. I practice cocking during a draw....just like my SA pistols.
