While I hate that it ends like this for Larry, you have to obey the law and ATF's rules. Not agreeing with them does not get you a pass. Who you used to be doesn't get you a pass. People seem to forget or perhaps were never aware of similar instances in the past, Bill Fleming for instance who as I recall also had some involvement with a police dept where they were trying to finesse the rules. No one is "too big to fail".

Larry is of course a former Delta SF guy, well known. Less well known is Sullivan, a former SEAL. That's why his business is (was) called Trident LLC. These are the guys behind the importation of those "Hungarian" SVD's a couple years ago. Bottom line, if you import anything, it better be what you say it is and it better be for the purpose you represent to ATF. That means if you are telling them you are going to do a demo, it better be legit and not a "wink wink" with some corrupt cop. You better have a law letter from them, and you better do the demo. People like this who abuse that are going to be responsible for that ability to do that going away for all of us in the 08/SOT community, and guys like Vickers and Sullivan are well aware of the saying in the military, all branches, that "other people are always the reason we can't have nice things". They just decided they were special/could have cool stuff anyway/could make $$ doing it. They were wrong.

Sucks for Larry, no more guns forever, but he brought it on himself.
 
There's so much "wrong" here I don't know where to start........it shouldn't end like this but he brought it on himself. You can't import jack shit from Russia, and he knew it.
 
The guy didn't break any laws, that I can tell. But he ignored the "spirit" of the law and that got him the attention of the ABC groups. Regardless, they've done what they have and will do what they are going to.
Whatever. The guy is an assbag and the sun may just well shine brighter without his head blocking it out. Veteran or not, doesn't matter. McStain was a vet, too, and I'm glad that fugger is dead.
 
As previously stated......I have not gone into the details....just got the topic(s).

And @Lamont ....you are very correct. He has to play by the rules just like you/I. I hate it that this has happened.
Whether or not he broke the law.....I don't know....and I haven't read the details.
