Thanks for sharing. It’s crazy T36 owners and Tom have to go through all this. There goes my chances to purchase a K model this year. He is going to be too busy making all these conversions. ☹️

Less than desirable.

This certainly adds significant issues to those who hypothetically have a registered SBR utilizing a T36 receiver.

Pretty good of Tom to only charge $25 for those with registered receivers, however.

Gotta be catastrophic to a small business financially.

Poor guy, he took a big risk developing something nobody else would. Hope he comes out ok, he's a real standup dude.

Hypothetically speaking, does anyone have a template of a letter to send to the ATF to de-register a SBR?

I was going to SBR my G36K conversion but just never got around to it... Procrastination does have its uses!
But nowI have to get this fixed! It sucks all the way around!

Choate is Toms partner for the actual receiver, not "he who shall not be named", just FYI.

GSG9 (The Todd) only supplies the rest of the parts to complete the T36.
Didn't say partner, said BUSINESS. Nothing goes well when he's attached. it's like a dark cloud with people in jail and trouble left behind....

Moving forward from here:

Anything special that needs to be noted for dealing with the USPS and shipping these back to Tom?

Declarations or whatsoever?

My local PO had the BG-FRB boxes in stock.

Just need to disassemble the rifle and box it up with the Form1 paperwork.

It appears that since they F’ed up and won’t admit it they may allow those that were SBR’ed to be transferred to the new receivers without paying and going through the process to 5320.1 one. That’s a big if and the letter already has the “we aren’t authorized to blah blah.....“ disclaimer but evidently several senators or representatives have these as well as other high rollers and are pissed that they also got screwed. So maybe, hopefully but not getting hopes up.

I think they should rescind the ruling and make it right. It was a bad call on their part.
