*** my apologies in advance if this is posted somewhere. I did all sorts of searches, but did not find a thread. It could be right under my nose, but I didn't see it.***

Is the grip of the USP compact 45 smaller in circumference for a small to medium hand, compared to the full size USP?

I'm not talking about the length or capacity, just if it's easier to wrap around with smaller hands. I know the USP 9 is smaller, but I'm talking about the 45 compact. I did a review at Handgun Hero, which is always very helpful, but I know it may not be exact, and I'm looking for some actual user feedback.

Thank you in advance!

The grip of the USPc 45 IS in fact smaller in circumference than the USPF 45. The compact uses a slimmer magazine, and therefore has a slimmer grip, the further development of which led to the HK45 and HK45c. That being said, if you want a compact 45 but you are concerned about the grip, I would recommend the HK45c.

If I recall correctly, the USP45FS has a 1.2" wide grip (middle), whereas the USP45c is 1.15".

Thank you for the information. This is what I was looking for. Yes, I am looking very hard at the HK45C. With a smaller overall grip and the two back straps, it will probably suit me better. It's stupid, but I think the slide on the USP is way sexier than the 45C, which is practical but ugly. The HK45 is quite a bit cheaper and easier to find v USP45C, too.

And no P2000 in .45 . . . . which would be the best of both worlds.

You are welcome--- get the USP--- probably the most-tested sidearm in HK history. :)
I have had the USP45FS for 27 years--- I would not have anything else. ;)

The HK45c is essentially a P2000 in .45. I own them all (USP, USPc, HK45, HK45c) and if I were to only own one, it would be the USP45F. That being said, the compacts are the best as a carry gun.

Agreed - I'm going to pick up HK45C. I have a USP 45, which I love, and always keep close. But it can be a bit large for me at times . . .

I've got a USPC in 9mm, and HK45C. The USP is a bit too small for my hands, but the HK45C is a perfect fit.

When shooting the HK45C, the thing you'll love is the fact that the recoil is that of a 9mm....unlike a lot of other 45's.
I think you'll like the HK45C. Good luck and remember....pics or it never happened.;)

Cheers and update when you can!!!!!!

Good advice. It seems all signs point to HK45C . . .

You can thank me later......later as in, "I just went to the range and that was the best.......";)

PS I wouldn't steer you wrong.....and .45's aren't even my fave........9mm all day long. ;)
Fair enough. Will do! Thanks.
