USP Tactical or Not?

Tomorrow, I'm picking up a full-sized USP 9 with serialized threaded barrel, suppressor-height adjustable sights (rear), three (3) standard HK USP 15-round mags, a HK Jet Funnel kit, and four (4) transparent jet-funnel 18-rounds mags.

Considering the barrel is the same serial number as the slide and frame, I figured this is a USP 9 Tactical.

However, the date code is AI, indicating it's from 2008.

I thought the USP 9 Tactical wasn't introduced until 2015.

What am I missing?

HK USP SD 9mm perhaps? Does it have an O-ring on the barrel? If not, then SD. Probably doesn't have a match trigger then. I don't know when the SD came out; I have one that is AG dated, SerNo. 24-10314X.

I'm thinking of converting it to an LEM trigger. All my P30s have LEM.

Any opinions?

If you are accustomed to the LEM trigger, then do it. :)
I prefer the standard trigger on the USP Series. ;)

You already know what LEM is and hopefully you have trained and practiced with the P30’s. I see no reason to change.

Personally, i prefer hammer fired… but thats just me and what I was trained on.
Either way… practice, practice, and enjoy yourself while staying safe!

Switched it over to LEM today. Will test to see if it's as smooth to shoot as the P30s.

Little confused by your statement... even with LEM, it's still a hammer-fired pistol. LEM doesn't make it striker-fired.

Congrats. I am going tactical. Wish I would have snagged an ODG one when Sol had them at Rooftop!
